Project Name: YMCA Tom Taylor Family Branch (Gig Harbor Family Branch)

Client: YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap County.

Specs: 77,150sf of steel and masonry structure accented with the warmth of wood and shaped to accommodate flexible program space while conforming to the City of Gig Harbor’s aesthetic requirements. Program spaces include;

  • Indoor lap and recreational pools.
  • Running track.
  • Cardio and resistance training.
  • Racquetball courts.
  • Bistro.
  • Multipurpose activity rooms.
  • Party room with poolside view and climbing wall.
  • Gymnasium and locker rooms with steam and sauna.

General Contractor; AP/Rushforth Construction Company.

Note: The subsequent Haselwood Family Branch was modeled after the Gig Harbor Family Branch. Paul Akiyama served as pre-construction manager for Rushforth Construction and assisted with the incorporation of “lessons learned” from the Gig Harbor project.
